Welcome to The National Design Academy

Established for over 21 years as a specialist Design School, The National Design Academy offers a number of Interior Design courses ranging from GCSE level to BA Hons degree.

Degree courses are delivered in two stages – Foundation Degree in Interior Design, (equivalent to the first 2 years of the full time degree) and BA Hons, (equivalent to the third year of the full time honours degree). Courses are delivered flexibly by distance learning.

The Course

The course is delivered through an on-line bespoke virtual learning environment which provides access to all course materials, assignments, feedback and provides direct communication with your tutor. It also has video of the commercial practice at work and information on workshops.

The Foundation Degree consists of 8 modules: Visual Presentation, Interior Design Principles, Creative Lighting, Domestic Space in Historical Context, Design and Technology, Exhibition Design, Professional Practice and Furniture and Furnishings. The BA Hons provides a choice of modules selecting either Professional Practice or Exhibition Design at a higher level, a research project and culminates in a final project.

The workshop programme provides an opportunity for students to meet and develop skills on 1 day sessions.
